Next Saturday night, November 11, at 8 p.m. EST, Speaking of Women's Health Foundation (SWHF) and LIFETIME television will launch "Girlfriends' Night In," the first ever "live" online spa event.

Spa event, you ask? Yes. This on-line (as in viewed on your computer) forum of almost unimaginable liveliness will be broadcast from the most popular spa destination in the U. S., Canyon Ranch in Tucson, AZ.

The focus of the show is osteoporosis, the health initiative targeted this year by SWHF at their 25 conferences nationwide. If you are a reader of this newsletter you know that I'm so passionate about the osteoporosis message I wrote a book about it, SMART WOMEN, STRONG BONES.

The event, fully visible via computer, will be hosted by Florence Henderson, "Today Show" correspondent and "Brady Bunch" mom who will share her personal experience with osteoporosis. Florence and her special guests will take you through the Actonel (risedronate sodium tablets)Healthy Bone Makeover which includes a risk assessment tool, a calcium intake review, a cooking demonstration, and a mini yoga and exercise class so you can practice bone-building exercises as they're happening live. Additionally, my friend, Dr. Lana Holstein, Director of Women's Health at Canyon Ranch will talk about the link between healthy bones, physical beauty and sexual vitality and dispel myths about this disease which will be responsible for more than one million broken bones this year. During the show viewers can provide their points of view via live polling and participate in an interactive Q&A session with Dr. Holstein. You can also send "Bone Mail:" email postcards to encourage friends and family to protect their bones.
